A scalable version of the PL Club logo
Without further ado, the following files are available:
- plclub-logo.svg (6817 bytes), an SVG-format copy of the PL club logo
- plclub-logo.png (14095 bytes), a drop-in replacement (same pixel size) for the original plclub-logo.png
- plclub-logo_small.png (4615 bytes), a drop-in replacement (same pixel size) for the original plclub-logo_small.png
- plclub-logo.pdf (2565 bytes), a PDF version of the logo suitable for inclusion in LaTeX documents built with
pdflatex
- plclub-logo.svgz (9467 bytes), the Inkscape project, which includes guides, layers, etc. that may be easier to modify than the flat SVG
Discussion
The scalable version is
not a pixel-perfect recreation of the original. I am not a font design or graphic design expert, either, which means it's possible (likely) that the original contains some aesthetic choices that I changed without understanding them. You can play with the sliders here to compare a rendering of the new files with the originals to see the difference and decide for yourself whether the scalable version is faithful enough for your taste (left is the original, right is a rendering):
Additionally, because the original large logo has no antialiasing, it requires significantly fewer bytes than the drop-in replacement; something to keep in mind if that's a thing that matters to you.
